Why should you listen to us?

We are Corbin Trent, Saikat Chakrabarti and Zack Exley. In 2016, we were co-founders of Justice Democrats, through which we recruited Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to run for Congress. Corbin and Saikat ended up leading her campaign, with Saikat as campaign manager and Corbin as communications director, and in a shocking surprise victory, we defeated the third most powerful Democrat in Congress. Saikat and Corbin went on to work for Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’s House office while Zack started New Consensus, and together, they led the effort to draft and introduce the Green New Deal.

Through this whole experience, we’ve learned a whole lot. Follow along as we talk about how we originally tried to run 400+ candidates in one national campaign (and why we might still need to do that), what it was like to try to get big ideas to take hold in Washington, and what we need to do now to not just fix America’s biggest problems, but build the America we all dream of.
