When COVID-19 hit America, the bottom fell out of our economy. As millions of Americans started losing their jobs, our government did the unthinkable: they actually come together to pass a real relief package. That bill was the CARES Act, and perhaps the most consequential part of that package was giving every unemployed American an extra $600 a week. It was a lifeline for millions. Unfortunately, that $600/week is set to expire in less than a week, and Congress has not been able to come together on a solution to keep it going.
